Sea Level Cottages - Abaco
Abaco Bahamas vacation rental cottages with boat as complete beach vacation package on the tropical island of Lubbers Quarters in Abaco Bahamas. We are a licensed Bahamas hotel but our individual home rentals provide a secluded casual island feel.

More Info:
Sea Level Cottages was designed and built with island living in mind. We are situated on the Southeastern side of Lubbers' Quarters Cay right on a white sand beach. Your hosts, Amy and I, spend most of our time here at Sea Level- either in the office or in the gardens. We live on the island and are always happy to answer questions or point you in the right direction for your days' adventure. And every once in a while Amy lets me go lobstering!
The cottages are island designed, well maintained and spotlessly clean. Each has an outdoor gas grille, blender, coffeemaker, CD tape player, and AC power. We furnish your bed linen and two towels per guest per week, but PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN BEACH TOWELS. Dress is casual - do bring sun block, raingear, flashlight, and we suggest a pair of water shoes.The boats are just right for the local waters with center consoles, T-Tops, cooler seats, safety equipment and VHF radios.
To Our Guests: We are happy to show you around, provide local knowledge, go for a spin in the boat or assist when you want us to. We welcome you to one of the nicest out-island spots. Austin & Amy
Nearby Attractions:
Inshore fishing off the beach or dock for snapper, jacks, barracuda, and other small fish. You can pan fry these little guys or save them for bait. Right off the Sea Level dock is a great place to catch larger fish after the sun goes down. Using the smaller fish for bait, our guest have caught up to 80lb snapper right off the dock!! Of course having a boat gives you access to all of the excellent fishing the area has to offer. Reefs ten minutes offshore & the flats ten to fifteen minutes to the south for world class bonefishing!

Kayaking:
Sea Level has brand new Future Beach kayaks (as seen on the TV show "Amazing Race") for the 2003 season! We have double and single models for your enjoyment! Kayaking is also offered by a local adventure company "Abaco Outback." They offer a variety of tours as well as equipment rentals. Snorkeling/Diving:
There are many wonderful reefs in the area, both near & far from shore. This picture was taken at Sandy Cay; not the reef preserve but the barrier island. The preserve is just across from this shallower spot. This spot is great because you simply walk right off the beach to explore the underwater realm. Where as, if you want to scuba dive or just snorkel a more expansive reef, the deeper marine preserve is just minutes away. Keep in mind though, this is one of many excellent destinations for a day on the water.
Relax:
Get some sun just relaxing in a dock chair and watch the boats go by.....or lie in the shade, swinging in the hammock, everyone's favorite spot....We can also arrange for an onsite masseuse.

Amenities:
The Big House is a spacious 5-bedroom house located directly on the beach. The kitchen is large with tile countertops and a center butcher block island. The expansive living area provides plenty of room for everyone and is ideal for get-togethers and family reunions. Four of the bedrooms are located downstairs and the fifth bedroom, the 'treehouse,' is located upstairs, connected to the main house by a short wooden walkway.
The Dolphin House is a 2-bedroom house also right on the beach, overlooking the dock and Abaco Sound. The kitchen and living area are located upstairs to take in the perfect view, and tile counters, butcher block bread counter and pass-thru bar onto the spacious screened-in porch make it extremely functional as well. Both bedrooms are downstairs and each has a private bathroom tiled with native coral rock.
Clearwater Cottage is a two-story cottage with a loft bedroom, overlooking tropical and native gardens. A full kitchen with tile counters opens onto a screened-in porch with Adirondack chairs and a hammock, great for rest and relaxation. Although perfect for two, a futon sofa downstairs allows for a family with children to enjoy an island vacation together.
The Garden Cottage is perfect for two and romantically secluded, surrounded by bright pink bougainvillea, night-blooming jasmine, palms and native trees and shrubs. Designed with boats in mind, everything has its place in the organized kitchen, which is open to the living area and front porch, complete with a hammock. The bedroom is cozy with a view of pink fringed hibiscus flowers year-round.

Preparation for Your Trip
Start Early. If a passport is required for you to enter the country where you are planning to travel, apply for it as soon as possible.

As you travel, keep abreast of local news coverage. If you are in an area experiencing civil unrest or a natural disaster, if you will be staying more than two weeks in an area, or if you are going to a place where communications are poor, you are encouraged to register with the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate. Registration takes only a few moments, and it may be invaluable in case of an emergency. Remember to leave a detailed itinerary and the numbers of your passport or other citizenship documents with a friend or relative in the United States.
For up-to-date travel information on any country in the world that you plan to visit, obtain the Department of State's Consular Information Sheet. This covers topics such as entry regulations, the crime and security situation, drug penalties, and location of the nearest U.S. embassy, consulate or consular agency.
The Department also issues Travel Warnings and Public Announcements. A Travel Warning advises travelers not to go to a country because of dangerous conditions and/or U.S. government's ability to assist a U.S. citizen in distress there is severely limited. A Public Announcement is issued as a means to disseminate information quickly about relatively short-term and/or trans-national conditions which would pose significant risks to the security of American travelers.
