Sandy Point - This laid back fishing settlement located on the southern tip of Abaco Island hosts some of the best bonefishing in all the Bahamas. A population of about 500 inhabitants give the town a very friendly feel.
Many will attest, some of the biggest bonefish in the world are off the coast of Abaco Island. Rickmon Bonefishing Lodge and its guides know were these fish live. Bonefish average 3-8 lbs. with fish up to 10 lbs. Fish in the 10-14 lbs. are seen regularly and are not uncommon. A variety of fly patterns are effective on the diverse flats around Sandy Point. Anglers should carry a wide selection of colors, sizes, and weights of flies.
Your guides are local fisherman who pride themselves on their bonefishing guide skills. Your head guide is lodge owner Ricardo Burrows who has grown up fishing the waters around Sandy Point. The guides have good eyes for spotting fish, a warm demeanor, and they are always enthusiastic about the fishing success of the guests.
The newly constructed facility is located less then a three minute boat ride from tailing bonefish. Ten spacious rooms with air conditioning, five of which overlook the ocean, offer gorgeous views. The lodge can accommodate up to 20 guests. Outside the lodge you will find a beautiful sandy white beach to relax on. On some mornings you may even see tailing bonefish 100 yards from your room. Rooms are set up for double occupancy however single occupancy is welcome. Dining is available in the spacious comfort of our in house restaurant or on the tranquil doorstep of the Abaco Ocean..

Snorkeling, deep sea fishing, diving, beaching, and bird watching are amongst the activities available at Sandy Point. You are also only 45 minutes from the center point of activity in the Abacos. Marsh Harbour offers a more resort like atmosphere; boating, banking, shopping, and golfing are available.
