Maya Beach Hotel
Maya Beach Hotel, Placencia, Belize - All of our rooms are within 100' of the ocean and feature modern private baths and ceiling fans. Rooms are arranged to sleep from 2 to 4 adults.
|
More Info: Start your morning with a free continental breakfast of native fruits, freshly made breads from a local bakery and steaming hot coffee or tea. Watch the sun climb into the tropical sky from the deck of our beachside restaurant. If you are an early riser, make a pot of coffee in your room and walk out on the beach for a spectacular sunrise. You won't be disappointed!
Nearby Attractions: Deciding how to spend the rest of your day could be the toughest thing you do. Should you explore the 100,000-acre Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, only 30 minutes away? Or how about a day of snorkeling in our clear turquoise waters - or skin diving along the 2nd longest barrier reef in the world? Maybe touring the Mayan ruins of Nim Li Punit or Lubaantun or exploring the river caves where the Mayans held ancient ceremonies. Perhaps a boat trip up the river and a guided trek jungle trails where the howler monkeys and exotic birds abound - then lunch at Monkey River Town and a cruise homeward along the coast and mangrove waterways. For the fisherman, there is almost every kind of saltwater fishing you could want. World renowned for bone fishing, Permit and Tarpon, our shallow waters even team with Snook at times. Try native style hand line bottom fishing or go for snapper, grouper or barracuda offshore.
If that is too much for you, how about a stroll through picturesque Placencia Village with the world's longest sidewalk, quaint shops and stilt-houses or just spend the day around the hotel. We have excellent snorkeling off our beach, complimentary inflatable kayaks and very relaxing hammocks hung under the coconut palms. Grab a book from our "exchange library" and take a break. Beach sports like Pro Kadima, volleyball and horseshoes are available on site. Rent a sea kayak or beach cruiser bike for a more extended exploration along "the best beach in Belize".
Amenities: During the weekends you might enjoy watching your favorite game in our sports bar. We have the only 60" TV with direct satellite hook-up on the beach! On special evenings we hook up karaoke and entertain each other. Classic movies are also presented weekly for a little variety. Throughout the day, our bar and grill is open for snacks, lunches and refreshing libations.
Dinners are a special treat, with a menu that reflects the freshest ingredients available. From lobster, sea foods, pork, chicken or pasta, teamed with fresh vegetables from the local farms, we prepare dinner entrees by reservation. Special dietary requests are accommodated when ever possible.
At the Maya Beach Hotel, it is our desire to exceed your expectations. From our immaculately groomed beach and clean-comfortable rooms, to our friendly staff, we are here to serve you!
