Jamahome
Luxurious, spacious air-conditioned, 4-bedroom, 4-bath villa right on the beach. Spectacular, secluded fine white coral sand beach with scenic cliff, clubhouse, bar and playground.
|
More Info: Lots to do right at Silver Sands, including swimming, sun bathing, snorkeling, tennis, fishing. More to do within a short drive, including golf, rafting, shopping, dining, deep sea fishing, scuba diving, sight seeing and night life.
Nearby Attractions: Silver Sands is a secluded resort community of about 90 privately owned villas. It is on a 250 acre hilly site that comes down to the azure and turquoise Caribbean Sea where there is a half mile long gorgeous fine white coral sand private beach.
Some who come to Jamahome are content just to sit on the sun porch and be mesmerized by the soft warm ocean breezes and the stunningly blue Caribbean stretching into the distance. But for the more active, there's lots to do right at Silver Sands.
The Beach There are two fine white coral sand beaches at Silver Sands available for free use by our guests. The beach right in front of Jamahome is superb for snorkeling and exploring, and the one to the east 600 feet is renowned for sunbathing and swimming. The latter has a lifeguard on duty, a bar and club for drinks and food, various games and a children’s playground.
Snorkeling There is a spectacular coral reef a half-mile out from the Silver Sands beach, and you can hire a local fisherman to take you out there for snorkeling. The current charge is about US$10 per person for an outing. There is snorkeling gear at Jamahome for your use. The beach in front of Jamahome also has a smaller coral reef which provides a wonderful spot for snorkeling. One can see an immense variety of sea life right there. A pair of rubber soled beach shoes makes it very easy to do.
Fishing You can hire a local fisherman to take you out fishing at Silver Sands, and he will provide bait and other equipment.
Tennis The court at Silver Sands is available to guests at a small fee. There are several tennis rackets at Jamahome for your use.
Walking The streets on the complex are fine for a leisurely stroll or even jogging. The roads outside the complex can be explored also. There is a cave on the left off the road about a half mile to the west. Watch out for cows and goats!
Night Life Silver Sands itself is rather sleepy, but there is entertainment at the clubhouse from time to time. You can hire the Powerhouse group to come to Jamahome for a reggae music concert for a reasonable fee. Claudette can help arrange that.
Driver and van available for rental on short notice.
Amenities: Jamahome is a privately owned vacation home directly on the beach at Silver Sands Villa Resort. The large living room, sun porch and dining room each have a beautiful vista of the sea 100 feet away. Each of the four bedrooms has a full bath. Three of the bedrooms can be either twin beds or a king size bed, and the fourth has a queen size bed. The bedrooms have air conditioners. Click here for photos.
There is a TV with VCR, stereo CD and tape player and an extensive library of books and videotapes, including things to do in Jamaica. There are snorkeling masks, fins, a rubber boat, tennis rackets and beach towels for free use. The full time staff (Claudette Graham and a helper) come daily and will do all cooking (wonderful Jamaican cuisine), food shopping, cleaning and wash. Claudette, who is also the manager, can arrange sightseeing trips for you. Her husband, Erron Graham, is our van driver and can be hired for trips at short notice. You do nothing other than have a wonderful vacation!
Snorkeling masks and fins, tennis rackets, beach towels, linens, TV, VCR, stereo CD/tape player and extensive book and videotape collection available without charge.
Almost completely accessible for wheelchairs (one step from driveway).
Beach (or other beautiful settings at Silver Sands) available for weddings.
Child-friendly: no pool, staff loves children, baby sitters readily available.
Telephone and FAX available for local and long distance calls with toll charges paid by guests.

Caribbean Travel Tip Preparation for Your Trip Start Early. If a passport is required for you to enter the country where you are planning to travel, apply for it as soon as possible.
Learn about the countries you plan to visit. Before departing, read up on the culture and people for the places you will travel.
As you travel, keep abreast of local news coverage. If you are in an area experiencing civil unrest or a natural disaster, if you will be staying more than two weeks in an area, or if you are going to a place where communications are poor, you are encouraged to register with the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate. Registration takes only a few moments, and it may be invaluable in case of an emergency. Remember to leave a detailed itinerary and the numbers of your passport or other citizenship documents with a friend or relative in the United States.
For up-to-date travel information on any country in the world that you plan to visit, obtain the Department of State's Consular Information Sheet. This covers topics such as entry regulations, the crime and security situation, drug penalties, and location of the nearest U.S. embassy, consulate or consular agency.
The Department also issues Travel Warnings and Public Announcements. A Travel Warning advises travelers not to go to a country because of dangerous conditions and/or U.S. government's ability to assist a U.S. citizen in distress there is severely limited. A Public Announcement is issued as a means to disseminate information quickly about relatively short-term and/or trans-national conditions which would pose significant risks to the security of American travelers.
