Villa Deja Vu
Deja Vu is a luxury three bedroom villa situated in San San, Portland, Jamaica. Come experience the privacy, elegance and comfort of an ocean front, fully staffed Jamaican villa.
|
More Info: A truly magnificent property, Villa Déjà Vu, is located on the world famous Blue Lagoon Road, just outside of the village Port Antonio in the Parish of Portland, Jamaica.
Villa Déjà Vu is a 2 story, 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom villa situated directly on the water. All rooms are comfortably furnished, are air conditioned and overlook breathtaking ocean view. T hrough the entrance, the living room overlooks the 1000 sq. foot deck, perched over the water. This stunning deck, furnished with lounge furniture, adjoins a side bar-b-que brick terrace and commands a magnificent view of the daytime panorama and the Port Antonio sunsets.
Steps from the deck and patio lead down into 8 ft. crystal clear water, with sandy bottom.
Errol Flynn called Port Antonio heaven on earth- -a description echoed by subsequent visitors who have found this island Eden to be, quite simply, the ultimate vacation destination. We call it Jamaica’s heart and soul retreat.
Nestled between twin harbors on the island’s northeast curve, where mist-shrouded mountains drop down to the sea, Port Antonio more than lives up to its reputation as "the most exquisite port on earth." Orchids, bananas and palm trees grow in profusion. Waterfalls drop into fern-edged pools. And some of the island’s most elegant villas and charming small hotels are tucked into hillsides overlooking secluded azure coves.
Founded in 1723, Port Antonio was Jamaica’s most important center for banana growth and export in the late 1800s. One of the island’s first hotels was built here in 1905, and it soon became a vacation Mecca for the rich and famous of the day. Hollywood’s elite arrived in the 1950s, a few years after Errol Flynn sought shelter in the harbor on his yacht and decided not to leave: He eventually bought several properties in the area, including a still-thriving plantation. Today, Port Antonio’s unrivalled beauty makes it popular for movie and fashion shoots, while its resorts and villas continue to provide inspiration for celebrities, writers, royalty, and captains of industry, commerce and politics.
From the Romanesque ruins of the Folly, a mansion unwisely built of concrete and sea water, to Fort George, an 18th-century British stronghold whose cannons still point out to sea, the past is only a heartbeat away in Port Antonio.
Maybe that’s why life moves at a slower pace than it does elsewhere, so there’s more time to enjoy swimming, snorkeling or scuba-diving in the shimmering Blue Lagoon, which is fed by freshwater springs and said to reach a depth of 200 feet..
Nearby Attractions: A bamboo raft ride down the Rio Grande River or a dip in the refreshing pool at the base of Reich Falls are popular activities. Strolling through tropical Athenry Gardens and exploring the ancient stalagmites and stalactites of Nonsuch Caves, where rare fossils and Indian relics have been found.
Even the most active vacationer will be fulfilled by the leisurely hiking and horseback riding trips through the Rio Grande Valley which are offered by Valley Hikes, an award-winning eco-tour organization that also offers excursions to the historic Maroon settlement of Moore Town. Basking on the smooth sand of Frenchman’s Cove or any of the number of Port Antonio’s idyllic beaches could be the best choice of all -- unless fishing is a passion.
Port Antonio has some of the best deep-sea fishing in Jamaica, with marlin, tuna, kingfish and dolphin in abundance, and hosts the annual International Marlin Tournament in October. Day, fishing and sunset charters are available upon request.
Jamaica’s mouth-tingling "jerk"-style pork and chicken is a local specialty — and some of the island’s best can be found at Boston Beach, the "birthplace" of jerk cuisine in Jamaica, just east of town.
Navy Island, set between Port Antonio’s two harbors and reached by ferry, was once owned by Errol Flynn and renowned for wild Hollywood parties. Today the island is far quieter—and a favorite for picnics and day trips.
Enjoy swimming and snorkeling in the shimmering Blue Lagoon which is fed by freshwater springs and said to reach a depth of 200 feet. The Lagoon, which offers fine dining is located a short walk distance from Villa Deja Vu.
If gentle breezes and a view of the majestic mountains and spectacular coastline meet your fancy, then board TooCanoo, a thirty foot catamaran moored in the Blue Lagoon. Group/private/day & sunset cruises available daily.
Other Activities: - Scuba diving and floor show at nearby Dragon Bay Beach Resort. - Craft shopping in Port Antonio. - English high tea with the peacocks at the renowned Trident Hotel. - Relax and sample local cuisine at Long Bay, one of Jamaica's most scenic and undiscovered beaches. - In-house massages
Amenities: The deluxe master suite, with king sized bed, includes a sitting area and adjoining den, equipped with DSS system (TV & stereo). The master bedroom also has a private walk in closet and bathroom as well as a large balcony offering magnificent views out to sea.
There are two other double guest rooms, each with their own bathroom, one with a balcony and all with ocean views. Bedrooms can be arranged as twins or king-size, depending on your preference.
The villa includes a professional staff of chef, butler and housekeeper. All linen is provided and laundry is included. Inflatable rafts are provided.
Included: - Airport Transfers - Champagne on arrival - First night's groceries

Caribbean Travel Tip Safety Tips Crime Information. Most visitors to the Caribbean have a relatively safe trip. However, thievery, purse snatching, and pick pocketing do happen, particularly in cities and at beaches. There has also been an increase in violent crimes, such as rape and assault against tourists. In some places, U.S. passports and identity documents are especially attractive to thieves. Robbery of yachts is a problem in some marinas.
Here are some precautions to keep in mind:
-- Safety begins when you pack. Leave expensive jewelry, unnecessary credit cards, and anything you would hate to lose at home.
-- Use a concealed money pouch or belt for passports, cash, and other valuables.
-- To facilitate replacing a lost or stolen passport, carry two extra passport photos and a photocopy of your passport information page and other identity documents with you in a separate place from those items.
-- Do not take valuables to the beach. When possible, use the hotel safe when you go to the beach or into town.
-- When you enter a marina, register with the local government authorities.
