Idle Awhile Resort
Idle Awhile is an intimate resort located on the famous white sand beach of Negril, Jamaica. With 5 One bedroom suites and 8 deluxe rooms, this inn on the beach is the ideal place to relax away from the bustle of crowded lobbies and beaches. Idle Awhile caters to families, singles and couples.

Idle Awhile Resort features thirteen intimate units. Four units are One Bedroom Suites with kitchens and large verandahs .
One unit is a Junior Suite with a kitchenette and an enclosed patio.
Eight units are Deluxe Rooms with large verandahs.
All units have king sized beds, air conditioning, cable TV, ceiling fans, clock radios, large private verandahs and couches.
The Deluxe Rooms are intimate and ideal if you are traveling alone or with your partner or best friend. They provide you a view of the ocean or the lush tropical gardens.
You will find the One Bedroom Suites to your liking if you are traveling as a family or with a group of friends. The suites are much larger and comfortably furnished with additional facilities including an extra large living room with a queen sized day bed and a couch. There is a well equipped kitchen and dining area, an extra large verandah with rattan chairs and a hammock. The suites are next to the ocean and provide you with a breath taking view of the tranquil sea or lush gardens.
We now offer a Junior Suite. It is nestled in our topical gardens and is very uniquely designed. This all-in-one unit is equipped with a king size bed, a kitchenette, living area and dining area on an enclosed patio. This unit is ideal for a couple or for a small family with a young child.
Care to sample Jamaican cuisine? If you book a one bedroom suite we can provide you with a cook for an additional charge of $15 per day plus groceries. Our chef will go grocery shopping for you and prepare the very best Jamaican dishes.
Continental breakfast is also available for all units at a cost.

Besides enjoying our private white sand beach, guests at Idle Awhile have access to Swept Away Negril's famous Sports Complex.
The 10-acre sports and fitness complex at Swept Away includes lighted tennis courts (five clay and five hard), two squash courts, two racquetball courts, a fully equipped gym with the latest fitness equipment, lap pool, aerobics, Yoga, an outdoor jogging track, steam rooms, saunas, Jacuzzi, and a basketball court. Spa and Beauty Salon services are available at an additional cost at the Oasis Spa which is also located at the Swept Away Sports Complex.

Driving in the Caribbean
If you plan to rent a car, be aware that most jurisdictions of the Caribbean drive on the left. The only places where you drive on the right are Aruba, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Martinique, and the Netherlands Antilles. In other places, if you are not used to driving on the left, proceed slowly and with utmost caution. You may wish to ride as a passenger for a while before trying to drive yourself.
Driving conditions and local driving patterns are different from the U.S. Many roads are narrow or winding, signs may not be in English, and in some places, domestic animals roam freely. Defensive driving is a must.
