The 2nd longest barrier reef in the world off shore is dotted with islands for world-class snorkeling, fishing and scuba diving. Lush rain forests dotted with Mayan ruins are in the ‘backyard’, 30 minutes to the Cockscomb Wildlife Sanctuary where 10,000 acres of rain forest offer walking trails swimming under a waterfall and home to the only Jaguar preserve in the world.
. . .and you will enjoy 14 miles of sandy beach from your own front door! Belize is so many wonderful things – but it is not a commercialized tourist destination.
Local fishermen still paddle by in dugout canoes and dolphin come to play just offshore in front of our beach houses. Come relax, explore and enjoy yourself.
Belize, formerly British Honduras, is an independent British commonwealth country with a two-party Democratic government. Belizeans speak English and enjoy a good standard of living.
Belize was once the center of the Mayan civilization. They built elaborate cities and temples using advanced mathematics, engineering, astronomy and art. Day trips are available from our resort to some of the most fascinating Mayan ruins of Southern Belize.
There are more than 450 cayes (an island of sand or mangroves) off the coast. The majority of the cayes are uninhabited and virtually unexplored. The water surrounding them is teeming with marine life of all sizes. You can paddle leisurely out to False Caye in one of our canoes. Facts about our Weather

The Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary encompasses some 100,000 acres of tropical moist forest. Established in 1984 as the world's first sanctuary to protect the jaguar, it is also known as "The Jaguar Preserve". The Maya believed the jaguar's skin symbolized the night sky.
