From your doorstep you can experience the two worlds of Belize …

The 2nd longest barrier reef in the world off shore is dotted with islands for world-class snorkeling, fishing and scuba diving.

Lush rain forests dotted with Mayan ruins are in the ‘backyard’, 30 minutes to the Cockscomb Wildlife Sanctuary where 10,000 acres of rain forest offer walking trails swimming under a waterfall and home to the only Jaguar preserve in the world.

. . .and you will enjoy 14 miles of sandy beach from your own front door!

Belize is so many wonderful things – but it is not a commercialized tourist destination.

Local fishermen still paddle by in dugout canoes and dolphin come to play just offshore in front of our beach houses. Come relax, explore and enjoy yourself.

Belize, formerly British Honduras, is an independent British commonwealth country with a two-party Democratic government. Belizeans speak English and enjoy a good standard of living.

Belize was once the center of the Mayan civilization. They built elaborate cities and temples using advanced mathematics, engineering, astronomy and art. Day trips are available from our resort to some of the most fascinating Mayan ruins of Southern Belize.

There are more than 450 cayes (an island of sand or mangroves) off the coast. The majority of the cayes are uninhabited and virtually unexplored. The water surrounding them is teeming with marine life of all sizes. You can paddle leisurely out to False Caye in one of our canoes.

Facts about our Weather

Belize has a subtropical climate.

Average annual temperature 88 degrees
December - May 84-88 degrees
June - November 88-92 degrees

We receive an average of 53-80 inches annual rainfall
(compared to 180 inches in the Maya Mountains)

Although the majority of rainfall occurs June to December, Mother Nature has her way of providing us with plenty of sunny clear days.

Our Caribbean Sea is 80 degrees!

Nearby Attractions:

- Star gazing from our Dock – they are spectacular here!

Explore the wonders of the ancient Maya civilization while in Belize. Mayan occupation began perhaps as early as 2000 B.C. and started to decline in 900 A.D. It's believed that at one time there were over 1 million Mayan's living in Belize. Where did they all go?

The picture above is Xunantunich "Maiden of the Rock" a major ceremonial center in the Cayo District. The largest pyramid is called "El Castillo".

5. Mayan Ruins (full day tour) Lubaantun and Nim Li Punit - Southern Belize

The Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary encompasses some 100,000 acres of tropical moist forest. Established in 1984 as the world's first sanctuary to protect the jaguar, it is also known as "The Jaguar Preserve". The Maya believed the jaguar's skin symbolized the night sky.

After your tour through the preserve and a light lunch, the guide will take you on a refreshing tour of the water falls and natural water slides. Once in the cool clear water you may not want to leave. She didn't.
