Site Information:
Glover's Atoll Resort
Our privately owned 9 acre North East Cay, white sand, coral and coconut trees, left in its natural condition, atop a pristine reef; clear waters offer good diving, snorkeling, swimming right from shore.
|
More Info: Glover's Atoll is a World Heritage Site and Marine Reserve. Glovers Atoll Island Lodge is located in the Glovers Marine Reserve, white sand, coral, & coconut trees, left in their natural state on top of the pristine reef. Excellent diving, snorkeling and swimming right from beach. Glover’s Atoll is Belize’s most remote atoll.
We offer complete privacy and solitude and what we really give you is access to an amazingly beautiful unspoiled group of islands and reefs, a place to sleep, cook (or order seafood meals in our restaurant) and a truly unique experience in traditional Belizean living and the adventure of a lifetime.
GLOVERS GUEST HOUSE IN SITTEE RIVER: Departure point for Glover's Atoll and center for excursions to the south part of Belize. Many of our guests that want to spend a few days on the jungle river or explore the surrounding attractions arrive a day or two early to explore…….Bring light weight long clothing, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, binoculars, camera and insect repellent.
Close to the Mayflower National Park, and Jaguar Reserve. Waterfall, Maya Ruins, Sugar Mill Ruins, Old Cemetery and Lagoons, all accessible by rental - canoes, or bikes or by van. Tranquility and lots of birds, iguanas, some crocodiles. Swim in the river or hike in the jungle.
Nearby Attractions: Excellent diving on drop offs which start from 25 to 40 feet on east side and north end of Glovers Atoll, the east side is deep canyons and a drop off starting at 60 feet and descending to thousands of feet down into the Bartlett Trough. Spires from 10 feet to 100 feet on the southwest side of the reef and rich descending steps of 50 foot drops on the western side of Glovers Atoll. The reef is rich in Marine life and very beautiful from shore or only minutes from our dock, allowing for excellent diving and snorkeling.
KAYAKS: All kayaks come with paddles and life vests. You can paddle from Northeast Caye North along the reef crest for up to 12 miles, eat your lunch on small sand bars on the reef crest, then paddle and snorkel back to the island down wind. Go paddle to the700 patch reefs to snorkel or visit the 5 other islands situated from 1 to 6 miles distance. The kayaks are great for Fly Fishermen to visit Bonefish and Permit flats or to go outside of the non-fishing zone to catch fish, conch and lobster. We rent camping gear and you can camp on the reef crest or other islands or take a one-way trip to be picked up by skiff on return. Sit on top Cobra Tandem kayaks for one or two kayakers are great for snorkeling or shallow diving (on patch reefs), visiting islands and fly- fishing from. They are stable, unsinkable and easy to climb back in after snorkeling.

About St John, U.S. Virgin Islands - St. John Of all the islands, St John is probably the most unspoiled, thanks to the contribution of one of the world's best known philanthropists, Laurence Rockefeller. Had it not been for Rockefeller's gift of money and his desire to preserve beautiful St John, the landscape would probably look more commercial, much like the other Virgin Islands.
