At LaSource, Relaxation goes way beyond simply lying on the beach or around the pool, or being active in the myriad array of sports and fitness activities available all day long. We recognize that activity/fitness programmes generally ignore the important Mind/Body connection, so we also feature a programme of holistic activities. These are activities that benefit the body, mind and spirit or, the "whole" person.
The LaSource Relaxation Programme incorporates Yoga, T'ai Chi, Meditation and Stress Management. These activities take place in serene and inspirational settings, framed by verdant blooms and the sounds of birds and flowing water.
Yoga is a dynamic system of physical exercise and a valuable philosophy to apply to everyday life. The ultimate goal is to achieve complete detachment from reality and total self-knowledge. Only by separating "self" from one's environment can one come to terms with individual personality and start putting the mind and emotions in order. The lack of self-knowledge is thought to be the fundamental cause of many emotional and nervous problems.
Yoga helps people to take control of their lives by learning to control the body, breath and mind. The secret is to find balance in life. Yoga practice is very beneficial for prevention of disease and, has therapeutic properties which can improve certain health problems. The breathing techniques improve circulation, reduce tension and increase the oxygen supply throughout the body.
T'ai Chi is a multidimensional approach to generating the optimum possible level of lifelong heath. Often thought of as a martial art or exercise, T'ai Chi is actually a philosophy of balance and harmony that encompasses principles of health for all areas of life.
The T'ai Chi exercises are a series of movements which perfectly embodies the Yin/Yang principles as applied to internal and external body dynamics, as well as study of force - how to neutralize force directed at the self, and how to generate one's own internal force to counter. The movements, although fluid, are very precise and become an art of supreme mental focus and meditative calm.
Meditation aims to cut out the distractions of everyday life, allowing one to look within for peace and tranquillity. Meditation releases tension and negativity from the mind and body, allowing you to enter a truly tranquil state from which the body can begin to regenerate itself from the inside out.
Meditation is about experiencing a deep state of relaxation and acute awareness. It is a time to connect with one's inner source or being, and to let go of the things and roles we get caught up in: work, parenting, concerns, responsibilities, etc.
Stress Management classes are designed to enable individuals to come to terms with the things in life that cause them stress, and to help them devise the best possible ways of dealing with these events. Holistic activities, like those described above, may be prescribed as a part of an individualized programme of stress management to be followed beyond the vacation experience at LaSource.

To prevent ringworm, the most effective product is "Nizoral" - sold over the counter as an anti-dandruff shampoo.
