This is your day; La Paloma and Awesome Caribbean Weddings will arrange it to meet your unique requirements and personalities. You can have the sample ceremony described below or add or take away anything you want. No two couples are the same so no two weddings need to be!
Your Awesome Caribbean Wedding ceremony site has been set up on the tiled patio near the pool, with the beautiful wedding arch (or tall vases) decorated with bright tropical flowers and foliage. The Caribbean breeze cools the wedding party as they enjoy the view of the Caribbean Sea. You hear the rhythmic tones of a steel pan band (or other musician of your choice) playing melodies that will always remind you of this day. The photographer begins to capture all your special moments. Champagne sits on ice and a table has been set up for signing the official wedding documentation. As your chosen tune fades your ceremony begins.
Your witnesses and guests applaud, your special vows have been exchanged, fresh petal confetti fills the air – it’s time to open the champagne and toast the beginning of your married life together.

You are required to be in St Lucia for two days prior to the wedding, and the paperwork takes one further day to process. So the earliest you can get married is the fourth day after your arrival on the island.
Nearby Attractions: Sixty million years ago, Nature laid on a spectacular show. It was an extravaganza of epic proportions with a kaleidoscopic refulgence of fiery explosions seldom seen since. When the dust and debris had settled, the result of this upheaval was revealed - a dazzling jewel of an island shimmering in the azure blue of the Caribbean Sea.
This turbulent birth has left St Lucia with a fascinating natural legacy. The island is almost entirely volcanic with some of the oldest rock formations found at the extreme northern and southern tips of the island.
More recently - between thirty to forty million years ago - an extended sequence of volcanic activity filled in the Barre de L'Isle (literally the "barrier of the island", a ridge of hills that separates the windward and leeward sides of St. Lucia) and the rocks underlying the east coast from Grand Anse to the upper Savannes Bay. Here, the main geological structure is a massive, circular depression about 4 miles (6 km) in diameter called the Qualibou Caldera. This enormous defunct volcanic crater was produced either by a major eruption, or the collapse of a large volcanic cone. There is evidence of thirty-three consecutive eruptions in this area with as many as 1,000 years elapsing between each one. These violent explosions carried pumice, ash and pyroclastic ejecta as far as 8 miles (13 km) beyond the volcano's rim.
The caldera then collapsed and set the stage for the emergence of large domes and vast volcanic craters. It was at this moment that the majestic Pitons were formed.
The central rainforest area, about 18,000 acres in all, is dominated by three giant tree species - the chataigner, gommier and mahoe. This is the home of the St. Lucia parrot and the source of many of the island's rivers.
The forest zones contain an abundant supply of water which is hardly surprising as the island's annual rainfall is some thirty-five billion gallons. However, most of this ends up in the sea, for the impervious volcanic bedrock offers little in the way of storage and rententive facilities.
The beaches of St. Lucia come in all shapes, sizes and colours. Whatever their description, they are all beautiful and they are all free. There are no privately owned beaches on the island. Fifty yards above high tide mark, around the entire coastline, is the Queen's Chain. This is public domain and it means that every single St. Lucian beach is yours to discover.
The busiest is Reduit Beach on the north-west coast. The sea is calm and safe and the sand is golden. Beach chairs and cold drinks are readily available and there is plenty to do. Sunfish sailing, windsurfing, waterskiing and jet skiing are all on offer here. Or you can simply sit back and let the world drift gently by.
One long and particularly beautiful stretch of sand is Vigie Beach, less than 10 minutes walk from Villa La Paloma. Before the Gros Islet highway was built and opened up the northern sector of the island, Vigie Beach was the most fashionable place to bathe. Today, despite its central location, it remains more idle, a well-kept secret where there is plenty of room to stretch out and stroll. The sea is wonderfully clean and there is shade beneath the almond trees for picnics. Whether you are looking for deserted stretches of volcanic black or white sand, beaches who buzz with action; wild and untamed shores on the Atlantic coast or tranquil and clear seas of the Caribbean sea, look no futher, St. Lucia can provide them all."
St Lucia offers myriad opportunities and unparalleled places to explore. Fun-filled activities, exciting discoveries, educational enrichment on the history of St. Lucia and wonderful memories - they are all to be enjoyed on the mystical "Helen of the West Indies"
There are several ways to see the island. If you prefer to do it alone, a rental jeep or car is the answer. Take a good road map and ask for assistance on the way. Be cautious of anybody on the road, we recommend you do not pick up any passengers on your journey. If you want to avoid the larger groups on guided tours, then book a taxi. At Villa La Paloma we can recommend several for you. The drivers have an excellent knowledge of the island and are also good at suggesting "off the beaten track" locations.
There are so many choices of tours to take which we will be happy to recommend on your arrival at Villa La Paloma. For general sightseeing we recommend the day sail to Soufriere on Endless Summer. This tour generally includes the Diamond Mineral Baths, Botanical Gardens and a Waterfall, the Sulphur Springs and the Pitons.
To experience our rainforests, a Jeep Safari Tour is a must. This tour takes you to the rainforest and waterfalls in open-backed, rough road jeeps. Truly a real experience with Mother Nature.
Sightseeing experiences on St. Lucia can be enriching and wonderful fun. Please however, bear in mind that St. Lucian customs may be slightly different to those you are accustomed to at home. Therefore, sit back and enjoy the experience - remembering that life here moves a little more slowly than you may be accustomed to, but then you are on vacation! Relax and enjoy the flow; island life is always always irie. An absolute must when you visit St. Lucia is a Safari tour of St. Lucia's rainforest and her waterfalls. It is a tour with well informed guides who can offer a true experience of our people and our island.
The trip begins with an informative drive through Castries, then onto the Cul de Sac Valley. From there you will enter the Venus Rainforest.
Spectacular views of the Roseau Valley and the banana plantations stretch out for miles before you. Your first stop is to enjoy the abundance of fresh fruit that is grown in St. Lucia - succulent pineapple, crunchy coconut and delicious bananas all just freshly picked.
A bird's eye view of Mt. Gimie, the tallest mountain in St. Lucia stretches before you. You journey deep into the rainforest and stop for a long walk along a river towards a fabulous waterfall...
Your guide informs you of plants and trees, and you may be lucky to encounter a snake or two resting on a Mango Tree branch. At all times you are safe in the care of the guides. A dip in the two small pools in the river immediately refreshes you. You need to wear sturdy shoes or sneakers and be prepared to get them wet!
With a cooler on board packed with refreshments, and a cooler from Roseline with soft drinks as you wish is available to you all day. You then go onto La Sikwi Estate, a truly intrigueing experience of how life must have been on a working Sugar Plantation. A delicious buffet awaits you. Then on to Anse Galet for some snorkeling or join in beach games organized by your guides.
(Prices: Adults US$80, Kids US$52 each)
Not to be missed - especially if you have children with you. The museum takes you back in time to the creation of St. Lucia, the time of the Arawak Indians and through the history of 14 battles between the French and the British for The Helen of the West Indies - St. Lucia.
The climb up to the Fort is not a difficult one - the views that await you at the top are well worth the climb.
There are 2 restaurants on Pigeon Island that serve lunch and refreshements. However the food tends to be very expensive and not that great. We highly recommend getting Roseline (of Villa La Paloma) to pack a delicious picnic which you can enjoy on Pigeon Island after your climb. Just leave the coolers in the jeep until you have finished your climb and ask at the gate to be allowed out to collect them.
There is a small beach on Pigeon Island which is great to relax on. Very calm waters, which is great for the kids.
Tip: - A good idea is to have us check the days that cruise ships are due in to avoid as their passengers do flock to Pigeon Island in the hundreds!
A day out with Duke and his speedboat "Wild Ting" is a truly enjoyable day and an easy relaxing way to see Soufriere.
While driving to Soufriere by jeep is a very enjoyable scenic drive it can be very exhausting, particularly with children - we highly recommend a day with Duke. Both adults and children will marvel at the caves along the coast filled with bats!
Duke shows you the fishing villages on the way to Soufriere and takes you through Marigot Bay where you can imagine the British fleet of Admiral Rodney frantically strapping coconut palms to the masts of their vessels to hide from the French fleet as it sailed past, unaware of the secret attack that Admiral Rodney would launch on them from behind as they sailed past Saint Lucia's famous Marigot Bay.
Duke takes you onto Soufriere where we can pre-arrange to have Ben pick you up and take you to see the sites of Soufriere.
You will visit the remains of our famous volcano and climb to a spectacular waterfall and bathe in the refreshing cold waters in the rainforest of Fond St. Jacques.
This boat trip is a very relaxing way to see all the wonders of Soufriere. Ben is a wonderful and informative tour guide.
Now it is back to the boat, and off to Anse Cochon for a swim and some wonderful snorkeling - masks, snorkels and flippers are all provided by Duke on the boat, even for the Kids.
Enjoy your picnic lunch (packed by Roseline) on the boat or on the beach. This tour will be a very memorable day of relaxing and learning a bit more about St. Lucia.
(Price range approximately US$600.00)
