Shopping - With its liberal tax and duty structure, St. Thomas is known as the duty-free shopping capital of the Caribbean. And, Charlotte Amalie is the largest shopping area on the island. Over 100 shops wander among quaint alleys lined with arched doorways from another century. This waterfront shopping mecca is only 30 minutes from Sapphire. Offering a less-historic and less-crowded shopping experience, Havensight Mall, located at the cruise ship dock, contains over 50 stores with all types of merchandise. It is only 25 minutes from Sapphire.

Tillet Gardens - Once an old Danish farm, Tillet Gardens is a center for local artisans and performers. Throughout the year, it also hosts art festivals and musical concerts.

Paradise Point Tramway - this comfortable and state-of-the-art aerial tramway will take you on a 700-foot, scenic ascent to Paradise Point, one of the best lookouts on St. Thomas, where you can enjoy panoramic views of colorful sunsets, cruise ships, harbor sailboats, seaplanes, downtown Charlotte Amalie, and neighboring islands. You won't want to forget your camera. Also at Paradise Point are fun cafes and unique shops for a full afternoon of enjoyment.

Kayak/Snorkel Tour of the Virgin Islands Marina Sanctuary-Led by knowledgeable and experienced naturalists, this 2 ½-hour guided tour combines kayaking and snorkeling with an introduction to the natural history and ecology of mangrove lagoons. It is a fascinating excursion into this special habitat, brimming with egrets, juvenile reef fish, herons, upside down jellyfish, rays, barracuda, sea horses and more.

Atlantis Passenger Submarine Tour - Another unique tour of the islands brings the captivating world of underwater exploration to everyone, young and old, aboard the state-of-the-art, air-conditioned Atlantis, the world's newest and most advanced passenger submarine. Diving to depths of up to 100 feet, this narrated underwater journey brings passengers face-to-face with sea turtles, colorful coral landscapes, parrotfish, and more . . . all in their natural habitat.

Half Moon Stables - Horseback riding aficionados will love the trails and vistas available at these stables, which offer trail rides, riding instruction and horse training. Their ride to the Atlantic Ocean is quite popular.

Blackbeard's Castle - This National Historic Landmark includes the remnants of Fort Skytsborg, a 17th century fort with panoramic views of Charlotte Amalie's waterfront.

Sapphire is brimming with fun! You can play a game of tennis on any of our four turf courts. We provide complimentary use of racquets, and tennis instruction. Or, you can take a swim in our two-tier, ¼-acre freshwater pool, which offers stunning views of neighboring islands and a swim-up bar. The kids will love their very own kiddie pool and playground. On the beach, you can start up a game of volleyball. There are two courts, and one is lighted for night play.
