Little Whale Cay is located in the heart of the Berry Islands.
130 nautical miles east of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida USA and 40 nautical miles north of Nassau, Bahamas.
Accommodations on Little Whale Cay are very comfortable for 12 guests. LITTLE WHALE HOUSE is the main residence. This structure is a classic'30's design for very upscale comfortable island occupancy with an extra large living room area and dining room area, a separate sitting room and bar with lovely bay window faces the sea and provides a commodious entertaining area. The large opening windows, exposed beam native pine cathedral ceilings with hanging fans and original tile flooring throughout, add to the wonderful ambiance we associate with the '30's era. The decor is understated and in keeping with those adventurous and exciting times about which we tend to be so inquisitive.
LITTLE WHALE HOUSE has a total of TWO bedrooms. Bedroom #ONE is located on the second floor with king size bed and adjoining bath. A balcony overlooks the sea from this suite. Adjacent to this bedroom is a large study/office/den which also has a balcony. Bedroom #TWO with 2 queen size beds w/ adjoining bathroom is located on the main floor.
FLAMINGO HOUSE - has 4 total of FOUR spacious bedrooms along with kitchen, dining room, sitting room and outside terrace.
- Bedroom #ONE has 2 full sized beds w/adjoining bath.
- Bedroom #TWO has 2 full sized beds w/adjoining bath.
- Bedroom #THREE has 2 double beds
- Bedroom #FOUR has 2 single beds.
- (Bedroom #3 & #4 share a bathroom)
PEACOCK HOUSE has ONE Bedroom with king size bed, adjoining bath, kitchen, sitting room and outside terrace overlooking the ocean.
LITTLE WHALE CAY is easily accessible by boat/aeroplane/seaplane. The marina is adjacent to the sea plane ramp which is next to the private landing strip. Private air charter service is available from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Nassau. Bahama Customs clearance is in Chubb Cay, a 5-minute flight from LITTLE WHALE CAY's private landing strip. Contact Island Air Charters at (954) 359-9942. Sea plane charter service is also available from Miami Seaplane Terminal.

CUSTOMS REQUIREMENTS & CURRENCY: Valid passports are required by Bahamas Immigration. U.S. and Bahamian currency (equal value) are accepted. Most major credit cards are accepted in Nassau.
RECREATION: In addition to the peace, tranquility and utmost privacy of LITTLE WHALE CAY, a few of the many forms of recreation available follow:
Boating and Water Sports: (Note: All power vessels are operated by the Island Staff).
(1) 23'Donzi with twin outboard motors - may be used for inter-island travel and exploration, fishing and snorkeling.
(1) 19'Lightning sailing sloop.
(1) 18'Wellcraft with single engine - may be used for water skiing and fly fishing.
(1) 17' Boston Whaler
(1) Glass-bottomed skiff - may be used for looking at the bottom of the sea or snorkeling. Snorkeling equipment is available.
(4) Ocean Kayaks
(4) Escape sailing skiffs

Fishing: Fishing tackle is available for deep sea or fly fishing. A number of small craft such as windsurfers are also available. Please inquire for details.
Tennis: A superb all-weather tournament tennis court - recently professionally resurfaced, is conveniently located very close to LITTLE WHALE HOUSE and FLAMINGO HOUSE.
Beaches, Paths & Walkways: LITTLE WHALE CAY has one of the most beautiful private coral sand beaches in the Bahamas. A curved native stone stairway leads from LITTLE WHALE HOUSE to the main beach. Several smaller beaches are located in other areas of the island and easily accessible. There are existing pathways by which one can circumnavigate the island - leading through the gardens and to the LITTLE WHALE CAY LIGHTHOUSE. Tradition dictates that the island flag is hoisted the evening of your arrival, celebrating the setting sun and your residency!
Amenities:
Island Staff: Ten staff members are in full time residence. Staff accommodations are located downtown along side the harbor. The chef and his assistant reside in separate quarters adjacent to LITTLE WHALE HOUSE.
Laundry/Maid Service: Laundry is collected by two housekeepers each morning from your room and is returned the following day.

Precaution Drugs
Take extra precautions. In your carry-on luggage bring an extra pair of eyeglasses or contact lenses and enough of any medication you take to last the entire trip. You may also want your doctor to write a spare prescription using the drug's generic name, since brand names may vary from country to country. Never put prescription drugs or valuables in luggage to be checked. To avoid customs delays, carry medications in their original packaging. And don't forget to copy down and carry addresses of offices that handle refunds of lost traveler's checks.
