Situated around and atop the highest point on Green Turtle Cay in Abaco in the Bahamas, the historic Bluff House Beach Hotel offers accomodations ranging from comfortable split-level suites to luxurious two-bedroom marina villas.
Set within 12 acres of palms and pines, the Bluff House offers the luxury of seclusion with its own private powder sand beach. The recently renovated marina is located on the protected White Sound Harbour, a popular haven for visiting yachts.

For those who think that doing nothing is something, Green Turtle Cay's quiet, deserted pristine beaches where you can wander without seeing another set of footprints, is the spot to untangle frayed and jangled nerves.
There is also the favourite pastime of napping in one of the hammocks slung between two palm trees, on the private beach at The Bluff House Beach Hotel following lunch, before the cocktail hour and dinner.
Activities range from snorkeling off our private sandy beach, using our equipment to play on our tennis court, fish from one of our docks or directly from the beach. Guests can participate in some of the finest scuba diving to be found anywhere by taking a trip with Brendal's Dive Shop to take you to a choice of over twenty dive sites each unique and different. Brendal's website is a treasure trove of diving information in the Abacos. Be sure to visit!
Explore the quaint village of New Plymouth on Green Turtle Cay. With only 450 permanent residents you will have a chance to meet and become friends with many of these ancestors of the Revolutionary War Loyalists who settled this island in 1783. Visit the Albert Lowe Musuem in New Plymouth to find out more regarding the history of our island and check out the open air sculpture garden for additional historical information.
Or take a trip with Lincoln Jones (a legend in his own time) who will take you on a wondrous snorkel and fishing trip where you can help catch the fresh grouper and watch Lincoln dive up Lobster for your incredible feast on a deserted island. Linc leaves around 9:30am and returns at about 4pm.
Handsome blue-eyed Ronnie Sawyer (featured in Saltwater Sportsman) will take you to the flats for some exciting action fighting the elusive and tantalising bonefish. Ronnie specialises in fly fishing and you can bring your own equipment or Ronnie will supply it and he will have you tangling with bonefish ranging in size up to 14 pounds within minutes of leaving The Bluff House Beach Hotel.
Ricky Sawyer has fished these waters for over 20 years and offers variety of fishing experience. Specializing in Bonefishing but also offers Offshore, Bottom and Reef Fishing.
Joe Sawyer has been fishing around Green Turtle Cay for over 50 years. Many repeat guests make sure they can get Joe booked before they will make their room reservations!
The Rooster's Rest offers dancing to the smooth island tunes of the Green Turtle Cay's very own fabulous Gully Roosters (the #1 band in the nation) every Friday and Saturday night. Self drive boats are available from Donny's Boat Rentals or Reef Rentals. Golf carts are available from several companies on the island. Bay Street Rentals is based right here at the Bluff House.

The adjoining unit has a bedroom with either a king or queen size bed and a bathroom . There is a large deck with views of the sea.
These luxurious villas have 2 bedrooms each with a king size bed and bathroom en-suite and a large open shower, living area with a sofa bed,powder room, dining area and a fully equipped kitchen with dish washer and ice maker. There is a large screened in porch with views of the marina and White Sound Harbour.

Ocean Undercurrents
If you get sucked out into the ocean by an undercurrent follow these instructions:
Do not panic, save all your strength.
Act immediately. Swim parallel to the shoreline. Even if you cannot, keep trying until you can.
What you are doing is swimming out of the undertow and into the current that will more than likely push you back to shore. Remember, in saltwater you float so you can stay alive for any number of days. Unless you are on a secluded beach a boat will reach you in time to rescue you should you fail to not be able to swim out of the undertow.
