Small, friendly, laid-back, Sandcastle offers you the barefoot, rejuvenating retreat in the Caribbean that many have only dreamed of. Walk on our sparkling white sand beach, snorkel our fascinating reef, trade stories at our beachside bar, hike the hills and valleys, or lie in a hammock under a palm tree with a good book - serious relaxation is what Sandcastle is all about.
To enhance your peaceful escape there are no phones or televisions in any of the guest rooms. Want to boogie? Nightlife is only a few minutes away in the island's Great Harbour, while Sandcastle remains subdued. Much like a small inn, our staff of twelve knows your name quickly, and is responsive to your needs.
When you visit Sandcastle, you will experience the Caribbean from a perspective that no other place can offer - fabulous beachside views of the Virgin Islands, an island community of 150 people that welcome you, and a casual attitude that make no demands on you.
Nearby Attractions:
Sandcastle is located on White Bay which has one of the most beautiful white sand beaches in the Caribbean with clear turquoise water, and an exceptionally nice snorkeling reef. Conde Nast Magazine described our beach in November 1996 as "one of the greatest beaches in the world". Most of our activities, therefore, center around our beach and water.
Amenities:
The 2-room cottages are located directly on the beach. The others are only slightly behind, so basically all are "on the beach".
All units have king-sized beds, ceiling fans, and inside bathrooms. The four 'rondel' cottages also have a daybed and can accommodate a third person. These units have outside, enclosed showers off the bathrooms, and the water is heated by the sun in tanks on the roofs.
The one-room units were added in 1998 and have inside showers, hot water and air-conditioning. They have a connecting door and can be rented by families or friends as one large unit.
Electricity reached Sandcastle only as recently as 1997. We use it in the cottages for lighting and fans, but in keeping with our quiet ambience, we request that guests minimize the use of any noise-generating appliances (radios, hairdryers, etc.)
There are no phones or televisions in the rooms, although the hotel phone is available to guests on an as-needed basis.

Always keep your film, tape, or computer disks out of the sun. Carry an extra supply of batteries, and be prepared to turn on your camera, camcorder, or laptop to prove to security personnel that the device is real. Always ask for hand inspection of film, which becomes clouded after successive exposures to airport X-ray machines, and keep videotapes and computer disks away from metal detectors.
