More Info: Villa Zama is a breezy, family-owned beach house on the white sands of Tankah Bay, about 45 minutes south of Cancun, between Akumal and Tulum on Mexico's Yucatan. With its private beach, away from the tourist developments to the north, Villa Zama offers a unique experience for those with a love of natural beauty, a respect for the local culture and an independent spirit.
Our house has a full kitchen, 3 bedrooms – each with a private bath and tile shower, ceiling fans and all the necessary amenities. Tankah Bay is a uniquely private stretch of beach with only a few residences, a great beachside bar and restaurant, a dive shop, inland lagoon (cenote) and plenty of sun and starlit skies. We have a wonderful Mexican couple who live in an separate casita on the property, and provide daily service, hospitality and added security so you can explore the recreational, historical and cultural opportunities of the Riviera Maya.
The beach is white sand and maintained daily. The world's second longest coral reef protects the bay and offers endless opportunities for recreation and exploration ... sun bathe, snorkel, siesta or explore the bay in our two sea kayaks. Enjoy the blackest starlit skies and the sight and sounds of tropical birds ... Mexican margaritas at your leisure.
Amenities: Villa Zama has three bedrooms – each with a private bath, tiled shower and queen size bed. The first floor bedroom has a private entrance and the two rooms on the second floor are separated by a patio. Each room has a ceiling fan (no air conditioning). The kitchen is fully equipped with gas stove, refrigerator, cooking and eating utensils and a blender for drinks. The kitchen table is handmade by a local artisan. Several coolers are also available along with bottled water.
The lower floor is surrounded by windows with a breezy palapa covered terrace for shade and a siesta. The open floor plan is great for socializing but the bedrooms are for private time. We provide beach furniture and two sea kayaks, great for exploring and snorkeling.
Villa Zama has a shady palapa-covered patio on the ground floor looking out at the blue sea ... perfect for morning coffee, a cool breezy read and an afternoon siesta. The upper terrace gives a view of the entire bay and a place to socialize in the evening ... think of blackest of night skies and star gazing with the constant sound of waves.
We have a wonderful Mexican family, Consuelo and Erasto, who live on the property in a separate casita and and provide 24-hour 7-day service, hospitality and added security.
