The resort is situated 200 metres from the white sandy beach of the Jan Thiel Bay. The resort has a 24 hours security, restaurant, pool and is situated centrally in a beautifully landscaped tropical garden. The Papagayo Beach Resort is just 20 minutes by car from the international "Hato" airport and not far from the bustling capital of Curacao, Willemstad

The resort consists of 50 spacious villas on large parcels that have been tastefully decorated by architect Jan Des Bouvrie. The villas, decorated in colonial style, have a spacious living room with a luxurious open kitchen which is equipped, among other things, with a dishwashing machine, fridge-freezer and combination oven. The 2-person bedrooms have air-conditioning and each has its own bathroom with shower, washbasin and lavatory. The use of natural materials (wooden floors, wooden folding partitions, etc.) gives the interior a pleasant atmosphere that will put everyone at ease. The ventilators in the living room create a tropical feel and provide you with the necessary cooling. In the living room you will find a television set with remote control and a telephone, which allows you to make direct international calls from the villa. When necessary, you can plug in your laptop, so that you have all the information at your fingertips. Nearly all villas have a full or partial view of the sea and a few have a view of the pool. This is combined with a beautifully furnished patio. As a standard, the bungalows come with a small safe, they are cleaned three times a week and provided with new bed linen. If needed, extra bed linen can be requested from the reception desk.

Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is the best way to protect yourself against financial loss. The most useful plan is a comprehensive policy that includes coverage for trip cancellation and interruption, default, trip delay, and medical expenses (with a waiver for preexisting conditions).
Without insurance, you will lose all or most of your money if you cancel your trip or have to cut it short, regardless of the reason. Always buy travel insurance directly from an insurance company or agent; if you buy it from a cruise line, airline, or tour operator that goes out of business, you probably will not be covered for the agency or operator's default, a major risk. Before you make any purchase, review your existing health and home-owner's policies to find out whether they cover expenses incurred while traveling.
