Welcome
Those of you who already know Tobago understand that it is not a place to find
prepackaged, preplanned entertainment or resorts. While there is a wealth of things
to do, you are not tied down to a regiment set by a tour guide. Charlotteville is
an extraordinary place but not the ideal vacation spot for everyone. We cater to the
traveler who is seeking a true travel experience immersed in local customs outside of a
resort setting.
About the Area
Charlottesville, a small fishing village, is located on the far
north side of Tobago on Man O' War Bay, The Bungalow is a cottage that is surrounded by
sloping hillsides and the Caribbean Sea. (island map)
Enjoy the lush, tropical island while staying in a
stylish Caribbean retreat located in the charming fishing village of Charlotteville.
Amenities
Located one hundred yards from the beach, this cottage has distant
ocean views from the veranda. Two smaller private porches allow guests to enjoy
either the local street scene or the more secluded backyard.
The accommodations are rustic and charming
yet quite comfortable. There is no air conditioning but the temperature is cooled by
constant trade winds from the Caribbean and Atlantic.
The Bungalow Cottage comfortably sleeps six
people with two twin bedrooms and one master bedroom. There is an airy living/dining
room complimented by simple handmade furnishings crafted by the designer-owners. A
fully equipped kitchenette is also provided. (amenities)
Scuba Diving
If you "love" to dive, Tobago is a
great place to visit. Scuba diving along the north side of the island is truly
amazing! Visit dive sites just off shore or drive over to Speyside, which is
just few minutes away over the small hilly mountains! (tobago diving)
Travel Tip
The Bungalow Cottage is located on the
opposite side of the island from the airport. Although it is not a long distance
away, about 30 miles, the seaside roads are winding in and around the shore and small
hilly mountains. Because of this it may take 1-3 hours to drive this and driving at
night is not recommended. So if your flight comes in after dark and you are renting
a car, you may want to stay at a hotel near the airport...also the drive is magnificent
and worth driving during day...the views are spectacular! (airport hotels)
